Ask DOPL to Protect All Utah Teens

You wouldn't affirm to a child with anorexia that she is fat -- why would adults be required to affirm the errant beliefs of someone who believes they are the opposite gender? Please allow these children to get the help they need for their mental illness!

While it is true that we need to make sure LGBT people have their rights respected, it is very important that we respect the rights of people who want to go receive therapy to change their desires and feelings to match a traditional family orientation! The legislation being introduced would be biased against people who want to have traditional family values

I think this whole ridiculous ideological project should be dropped, or in the alternative, at least "find new language that protects client self-determination of all teens and their families."

Anyone who needs mental help in any way should be free to direct what they want their life to look like. When the Science isn't settled on whether someone is born same sex attracted, or develops it through environment, why can't those who desire help one way or another seek it from professionals rather than punish those very professionals who would honor their patients' wishes?

Please don't take away parents rights to make decisions in the best interest of their children.

I have a child that has changed her gender. He is an adult. We have been blessed with good therapists that have helped him before and after he changed his gender. Please don't restrict therapists from being able to offer both sides of the issue, to encourage whichever way the child is looking for help to go. We are having a harder and harder time to find therapists that will help a child work through gender identity in a healthy way, to help them see that they do not have to act upon those feelings if they wish to remain the gender they were born with and encourage them to continue with the values they were taught. Life is confusing enough and if all options are not discussed, that is giving favor to only the one way.

I want my children to be able to have an option to work with professionals to help them through any difficult, confusing, or unwanted sexual feelings they may face growing up.

THERAPISTS OUGHT TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ADVICE ABOUT HAPPINESS

Please Protect All Teens by rejecting the language proposed by the Board of Psychologists and find new language that protects client self-determination of all teens and their families.

I couldn't agree more. Open, free discussion is vital on these matters. Therapists need latitude to really help.

All teens need to be protected! They need to be able to talk to a therapist freely about their concerns.

Please reject this bill and retain our freedom!

Please protect the rights of ALL citizens. We should ALL be able to choose the therapy we want, not denied because others are uncomfortable with what others choose. I believe everyone should be allowed to have the therapy they want, not what others want them to have. Please do not deny some their rights. Thank you so much!
