I am an AAFP member and diplomate. I, too, would cancel my membership if the AAFP continues to push pro-abortion agendas.

I'm disappointed in AAFPs continued left motion. I hope AAFP will move back to representing ALL family physicians rather than a portion of them.

I have been a member of the AAFP since 1982 and a fellow. I am now a Life Member. The Academy has helped me in innumerable ways in my career and I wish to be able to continue as a member. However, I am appalled at the positions proposed about abortion and end of life issues These positions do not represent my views or those of many of my colleagues. Please represent the entire constituency, not just those who think untimely death is the answer to difficult situations.

When I took the oath at medical school graduation I declared before all those in attendance and to the whole world that I would support life, to help enhance the quality of every person’s life if possible. This especially included the most vulnerable, those who are in the womb. Taking life has no part in the practice of our life sustaining profession. Taking life especially without the permission of the one whom I am choosing to kill is tantamount to first degree premeditated murder. Please, I plead with you, not to pass this holocaust proclamation.

I am rural family physician practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine, including obstetrics. I have been a member of the AAFP since I was in medical school in 2011. My generation is often portrayed as monolithic in its opinions, but as you can see from the other signatures, we are not. I believe in the mission of the AAFP, to "achieve optimal health for everyone." This includes the unborn and the terminally ill. Please include a diversity of opinions in your decision-making, and refrain from taking positions that are at odds with the noble tradition of medicine as a profession of healing. Death is never healing, but it is always irreversible.

This is a major reason I left the AAFP. As a family physician i have dedicated my life to fostering healthy lives and therefore I cannot support the killing of innocent children. REVERSE YOUR DECISION AAFP!

we know that life begins at the moment of conception. Please help. I am an AAFP member for many years. I agree with this letter.

The best healthcare is women learning how their body works with NFP, not abortion after the fact of a child actually being conceived.

I have dedicated my career to working in California public sector county health systems because of the dignity of human life across all economic classes and stages of life. I urge AAFP to reverse their position.

Your mission statement says "...to achieve optimal health for everyone... " Abortion is not "optimal health" for the intrauterine child. It is the death of an innocent human being. It is because of actions like this that I resigned from the AAFP years ago and will never be a member again. The AAFP is no longer a scientific organization. It is nothing more than a political tool.
