I fully support this petition as a woman, mother and family practice physician. I have been a member of the AAFP for 20 years.

The political push to encourage abortion on demand is frightening and the AAFP should not make blanket statements or policies. Decisions regarding access to abortion should be left up to practicing physicians, not associations.

Although I would love to be a member of the AAFP, I have been unable to be a member for some time due to what I feel are immoral policies. I think you put out a wonderful journal for family physicians among other things. However, it saddens me to see the corporate morals of the AAFP deteriorate further towards supporting the murder of children by their mothers.

The AAFP used to be an excellent organization, but now has succumbed to the political pressures of the day, especially the loudest minorities. The AAFP should NOT be in the business of political policy, but remain in the business of excellent FM care for all patients. If the AAFP continues down this path, I believe John Patrick to be entirely correct in his prophecy 25 years ago, that there will be 2 kinds of physicians: those that will never kill and those that will kill in the name of utilitarianism and emotion. I will definitely contemplate leaving the AAFP altogether if this practice continues. Stand for life!

I have not been a member of AAFP for some time, due to the liberal stance on abortion and other important issues. Given the diversity of physician views on abortion, the AAFP should avoid policy-making on this issue.

Please seriously respond to this petition. This dangerous abortion policy is a major reason I will not be a member of the AAFP.

AAFP should stay out of this divisive issue. Physicians can decide without organizational intrusions.

I would consider rejoining AAFP if abortion is not promoted.
