Our healthcare system still needs HUGE improvement. What get's me is these corporate drug companies that have on their websites..."You can apply for free medicine"....Yea, that's great and dandy. The part that really gets me is in the fine print. You will see something to the effect of...."If you have private insurance you do NOT qualify for assistancein paying for the drug. My reply is..."Just because we may have decent private insurance does NOT mean we have money trees in our back yard. For example, I might have insurance, however, the money that goes out just to have the coverage is high, not to mention all the money going out to keep yourself somewhat healthy or just to stay alive via medication. I personally take 11 pills when I wake up, and 7 when I go to bed. I tried to get some financial assistance with an insulin pen. I was denied because I have private insurance. Overall, I have approximately $300-400 monthly going out to medical related items. We should all sign a petition to this affect to mandate these pharmaceutical companies so we don't have to pay more and more and more every year come Jan. 1st. Don't feel bad guys, even with insurance it is very challenging. IS ANYONE WITH ME TO START A PETITION AND GET 100,000 SIGNATURES. IF THAT HAPPENS THE PRESIDENT EVEN SAID HE WILL LOOK AT IT. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this article. I feel strongly about this and I hope that everyone feels the same.

I currently have insurance thru the Cobra system but will soon be unensured. Because I have no income and have not won my SSDI case yet I was told by Healthcare Reform and Medicaid thru the State of Virginia, that I will not qualify for any assistance. That is crazy. If I could work I would get help. I worked my whole life and had insurace thru my employers. Know I af going to fall into a crack.
This is only getting worse for people that have conditions that keep them in pain all the time.
I know exactly how you feel. There are a lot of meds out there that people need to live a halfway decent life or to even keep them alive and their insurance will not pay for it or not pay enough to cover it.

I'm just starting out on this road with Peripheral Neuropathy and already have tremendous medical bills......even with insurance! My husband and I have worked all our life and paid into whatever the government asked of us. Now that we are living on retirement incomes only, the times are extremely hard. Surely we can find some financial relief from our government!
