I fully support this traffic safety initiative and believe there are several options open to Council to fix this important issue. Tom G

I fully support this petition. I prefer option 2 over option 1, but either over no action. Thank you Paul for taking the action. It has been something that I have considered doing for quite some time myself. I have lived here for 14 years and concur with all the other comments on this petition so far.

The increased traffic and dangerous speeding down the very short Ashton Street has increased significantly over the past couple of years. I support Option 2 - to render Ashton Street a no-through road at the York Road end. I don't see the speed limit over peak times being adhered to, therefore at minimum would appreciate a no left turn from Birrell Street at the peak times noted above.

As a resident of Ashton St for over 20 years, I have witnessed the increased use of the street coupled with dangerous driving.

I have been in this street for 23 years the increase of traffic from Mondays to Fridays has increased significantly purely as a rat run mainly for the local school,I support the limited left hand turn during 7am to 9am excluding residents of course ,I also fully support permanent changed traffic conditions option 2

I fully support either limited left hand turn off Birrell St during 7am to 9am or option 2. A 40km will not stop the already inconsiderate drivers who speed down our street during school hours. As well as continual fast and aggressive drivers, you have L platers double parked whilst their parents take over the drivers seat. I spoke with the CFO of the local school after an incident involving an incident of a fast car almost running over our dog one morning. I don’t want it to be a child next time so I fully support a change in the traffic conditions.

Dear Waverley Council, I support limiting left hand turns from Birrell St to Ashton St during peak hours with effective policing. Regards, Vic Bugg.

We have lived with this dangerous driving behaviour for too long. I strongly support both options proprosed however I don’t believe option 1’s idea of limiting the speed will have any practical effect and will never be enforced, so I would remove that.

We support a safer street for all residents. We continue to oppose the reckless and dangerous school traffic that we see on Ashton street every weekday morning. In addition we routinely see learner drivers double parked in the middle of the road whilst they change drivers to allow their parents to drive them to school.

Dear Waverley Council, I fully support the petition as increasing traffic on Ashton St from Birrell St turning left is creating hazardous conditions. My preferred option is option 1 :-to manage this increasing traffic danger is to limit left turns off Birrell into Ashton St from 7-9am as occurs right off Birrell into Ruthven St( for the same reasons and well policed with good effect) sincerely Matthew Peres
