Recently the DoD approved the Wiccan Pentagram as a symbol that can be placed on a service member's headstone. While we applaud the DoD for allowing the Pentagram to be put on headstones, we urge them not to stop there. There are many Heathens in the Armed Forces and in various places throughout the DoD. They deserve the right to have a symbol of their faith (the Thor's Hammer, Mjollnir) on their grave markers.

The Department of Defense continues to ignore our service members by refusing to validate their faith on headstones. I am tired of the bureaucratic stonewalling while our brothers and sisters in arms are denied the basic dignity granted to others.

Long overdue. My grandfather would have been proud to see this change happen.
Its only fair. If they let Wiccans have their symbol then we deserve the same respect for our faith. Mjolnir belongs on our headstones too.
Respect for those who serve means respecting their beliefs after they are gone. Let them have the hammer.
My husband serves and he is Heathen. He deserves to be buried with his own symbols just like everyone else. Stop the bias.

Why is this even a fight? Its a symbol of faith. The military needs to get with the times and stop playing favorites with religious markers.
