So very disappointed in this change. We truly are becoming only crossbred organization. Hybrid vigor surely will be a thing of the past -- thought that was the purpose of crossing in the first place..Oh, we are doing this in hopes of more$$$$. I see.

Need to keep the breed positivity. They already have a division for less than 50%! It’s called A O B. And that is fair enough for those guys

I am NOT in support of allowing cattle lower than 1/2 to show in Simmental PTP (or any shows)

any thing less than 50% is nothing but commercial cattle. their are those of us who think the people who want this change should be fired for even thinking of it they are going to ruin this breed.

Keep the 50% requirement. Don't dilute any more. Leadership can listen or be replaced.

The members of the senior board should represent the members that elected them and not their personal agendas.

I love the diversity the Simmental breed has to offer but when an animal no longer has to be at least 50% of the breed it's representing, I feel like we've taken another step back. Just like what the addition of the API and TI indexes have done for the breed. Two EPD's that don't necessarily fit everyone's genetic needs yet have somehow become the sole deciding factor in many breeders and judges decisions. Whatever happened to looking at all of the EPDs and selecting the animals that excelled in the traits you are needing improvement in, not the traits that were deemed important by a single person or small group of individuals. Good cattle come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, it's what makes our breed so versatile and popular.
