As a member of the American Simmental Association, I support keeping foundation Simmentals as 1/2 or 50% Simmental- and do not support changing that to 3/8ths for PTP shows.

Need to keep the breed positivity. They already have a division for less than 50%! It’s called A O B. And that is fair enough for those guys
As a junior member in the show ring as well as a commercial breeder, we feel that in order to preserve the integrity of the breed that registrations should be limited to 50% and above.
That’s nothing more than what the chi association done and while you attend a show for them it has became a crowd laughing stock At how little influence they might have of CHI. Let’s Not take the good out Of Our Breed and make it nothing more than a glorified crossbred show. Keep the foundation breed of Simmental the true base of these cattle competing and being displayed!
Our breed goal should be to compete with Angus and Hereford in the marketplace and we are moving our percentage lower to be more like Maine’s and Chi’s. There should be incentive to own both registered makes AND females to be a Simmental breeder. Instead we keep lowering the percentage.
Simmental should been 50% or more to show in Any PTP shows ! It’s hard enough to get America cattle registered in the Canadian herd Book! We do not need it to be any harder! Dakota Townsend I am a member of both the ASA and the CSA
Against allowing cattle under 50% SIMMENTAL blood to show in percentage SIMMENTAL shows.

So very disappointed in this change. We truly are becoming only crossbred organization. Hybrid vigor surely will be a thing of the past -- thought that was the purpose of crossing in the first place..Oh, we are doing this in hopes of more$$$$. I see.
