I firmly benevento that children should have access to the arts, music and all creative activities.

My sons enjoyed his lessons, and the art work brought home was amazing, Mr C has so much to offer not only a art teacher, a supply teacher and a great listener to the children. He listened to the children of what they wanted and now it’s gone.

I do not agree on stopping the gospel singing and guitar lessons because the children love all of them things. I also do not want Mr Corcoran to stop doing art with us. I would like more dancing, singing and plays at school. These are the things that make school fun for me. Poppy Y4.

This is definitely to the detriment of the school, and o would say a result of having to provide more within current budgets.

Keep the teachers. Kids need music and art, absolutely. Disgusting to say their services are no longer required!

Music is very important and teaches a great many skills

My children loved this school & the arts were part and parcel of that. Not all children/people are made the same and those that shine through the arts should be allowed to do so and flourish.

I was a helping TA at burtonwood school for over 5 years , MR C is amazing art teacher he taught the children so much and me aswell ,I have helped at school producing over the years it would be a terrible shame for these to be lost ,the children loved productions, music and art it should be including in the curriculum it helps the children to discover new things , I am very sad to hear this both my daughters went to burtonwood, loved art music productions. I hope we do not lose them .

I was a previous student at Burtonwood Primary, who struggled in academic subjects due to having dyslexia and dyscalculia- but being undiagnosed at the time. I was constantly segregated and made to feel unintelligent. I found I excelled in art subjects more than my peers which aided my self esteem greatly. These subjects are important. Intelligence should not be estimated by how well you can read, write and do maths. I worry for the children in the same position I was, not having creative freedom and inevitably end up hating school.

How ridiculous to cut back on this, considering it is such a wonderful way of children to express themselves

My grandchildren all attend the SPLASH sessions after school and love their arts and language groups
