Chess is one of the finest sport which is being neglected for arjuna award. In the past seven decades india has produce so many grandmaster which really is appreciable.

Chess players have done India proud several times and they deserve recognition, funding and support equal to Indian cricket. Chess is a game that originated in Inida and we must do our best to promote it especially with such promising talent. Players like Harikrishna Pentala and Vidit Gujrathi have potential to be future world champions. Please give them the needed encouragement, resources and support.

Our players, both senior and juniors have worked very hard to bring laurels to India, they truly well deserve the Arjuna if nothing else. Since 2004, no chess player has been awarded an Arjuna. If we don't support our own players, then who will?
