Chess is such a elegant game in which you have to spend many hours to be good at like other games but it does not get recognition as other sports and their players . By giving awards like arjuna, which is such a prestigious award ,boost the moral and motivation of player very high. It also encourages new people chose chess as their profession who may be the future world champion from India. It's one of the sports where India is among the top nations. We have a crop of promising youngsters coming up. Chess needs to get more recognition and sponsorships to help these great talents pursue their dreams. And Arjuna awards will definitely help raise the profile of the sport in the eyes of the rest of the country.

The chess is been boomed nowadays across the india specially during covid lockdown & the performance of all indian players is been exceptional in these years & currently playing in chess Olympiad superbly also our major players like Vidit Gujrati, Adhiban has to be recognized.
