It takes about 4 hours to get to Glasgow or Edinburgh, time could be the difference between life and death.

We need a trauma centre in Aberdeen, not 2 in the central belt. It should be Aberdeen and 1 in the central belt. After all Glasgow and Edinbyrgh are only 1 hour apart.

This will have implications wider than is thought: wider services and teaching and training will be impacted! How will we recruit and retain staff!

Aberdeen covers a much larger area of Scotland than the central belt, including the North Sea. If they decide only 2 centres, then Aberdeen and 1 in central belt. After all, Edinburgh and Glasgow quite close to each other

The trave time for treatment will be life threatening in cases. Relatives will not be able to be with the patients because of the distance involved causing stress and anxiety to the patients.

We need a major trauma unit in aberdeen. How many towns are north of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Please use a map of Scotland to realise how necessary this is

We should not have to travel to the Central belt for specialist treatment. Speed is paramount for trauma injuries.

2 trauma centres 45 minutes apart is nonsense! People should not always be required to travel to the Central Belt to receive care - the roads etc do come north!! Aberdeen has many skilled surgeons, doctors and nurses and could attract many more with this kind of facility. SNP - get your act together or lose out!!

A modern progressive city like Aberdeen needs a major trauma centre to attract top doctors and nurses to the city. Dont let the SNP ruin Aberdeen as we have two Universities who are at the forefront of the NHS.

Am horrified at the thought of no trauma unit outwith the Central belt.
Have some common sense and some compassion.

Yes, having specialist services is key to good outcomes in trauma, but surely being able to arrive at those services within as short a time as possible is also key to good outcomes? ARI must be a major trauma centre, otherwise lives will be lost.

We need a trauma centre to be in Aberdeen for a number of reasons, most obvious is the oil and gas sector and all the dangers that are associated with it would be very poorly served by having to travel the extra distance to the central belt, because of the geographical spread of the various communities in the North of Scotland and including Shetland and Orkney it is madness to think that it would be in a patients best interest to subject them to the stress of a long and difficult road journey or the added distress which could be caused by an air travel. I'm also concerned with the talent drain that this would cause from the area and the increased difficulty in recruiting the best clinicians to the area if there was no trauma centre. Never mind the families who would be separated from their loved ones at an already difficult and emotional time.
