We need a trauma centre in the North East due to distance from Central Scotland and for the use of the offshore industry. What will happen if another Piper Alpha happens?

It would be shameful of the government to go back on their word and deny the North East of Scotland a trauma centre.

Once again the SNP have demonstrated that only the central belt matters in their opinion.

It is an absolutely disgrace that they are not giving us a trauma centre in Aberdeen. This could cause the deaths of many lives

The North East needs this centre. Everything is Central Belt dominated and the N.E. and Highlands are ignored.

Surely the distance to travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow must make them realise that this is a silly decision. What about us that live 50 miles from the ARI already. what happens if we need to go there - lives will be lost .....

ARI Trauma centre has a long and illustrious history. Just look back at the Chinook disaster, Piper Alpha just to mention two. Patient from the fart north would be at a disadvantage as well having to travel further for treatments. It makes no sense to remove ARI as a major trauma centre.

Government should not go back on their word. The North East of Scotland is a vast area and needs good medical services.

The absence of a local trauma centre will cause great distress and anxiety for both patients and carers alike. It will also cause financial strain.

Unfair to remove a trauma centre from the North East, who geography covers the islands also.

A Scottish Government should be looking at the needs of Scotland as whole not concentrating our resources on the central belt. They were vey keen to claim our wealth when the oil industry was buoyant but dismiss us when it comes to sharing out resources.

The potential for adverse impact from this proposal on health care provision and health care education in the North of Scotland is significant and worrying. The knock on effects on the provision of other health services and recruitment and retention in the region should not be underestimated. As many who have signed, I find the focus on the central belt worrying. What the rationale would be for two trauma centres within one hour travel distance of each other and none across the rest of the country is a puzzle.

Vital that Aberdeen has trauma centre central belt far too far away from north east both for accident victims and their families

Aberdeen serves the whole north and north east and islands should be a major trauma centre to reflect such importance and closer access to services for those communities.
