Aberdeen is a major city. The distance to Edinburgh or Glasgow is too great, especially when one considers the current reliance of the NHS on relative-support for patients. Treat the North properly, SNP!! Do NOT just serve Edinburgh and Glasgow

This is a necessity for people living up North it will save valuable time and lives when people are in need of it most. It makes no sense to me having two units so close together in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It could be detrimental to those who suffer a major trauma incident in the area and their families.

Let's not leave the North East without this absolutely essential facility. It's not all about the Central Belt

Once again the SNP want to take another important service from the Northeast , treating us less than igsignificant .
When are our MPs going to stand up for our community., and stop this shocking treatment .

A trauma centre is vital for people in the north of Scotland. Having to travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh will waste valuable time in a serious emergency. Keep the trauma centre in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Makes sense to have one in the north, one in the south. To be honest, the more the better actually!! Lives should not be put at risk to save money!!

No I'm sorry I don't agree that ari should be a trauma centre. I have been in hospital 16 times in 2 years and even single time they have been understaffed I think that by making Aberdeen royal infirmary a trauma centre would add more pressure to staff and possibly put patients lives at risk.
I think they should be using resources to recruite more nurses and doctors to support those systems and units already in place and not trying to change the hospital into this. Aberdeen royal Infirmary so already a top hospital but the stress I see in doctors and nurses almost on a monthly basis is unreal. Look after the staff you have then consider other options

Imperative that Aberdeen keeps a Trauma unit and all that's associated with it otherwise we will become a backwater.

if there are to be 2 national trauma centres seems to make sense there is one in the north and one in the south not 2 only 40 miles apart in the central belt as seems to be the plan.

If the ongoing centralisation to the central belt continues we'll just end up upside like England and London. I agree that 'specialist' services should be delivered in tertiary centres but when did trauma become 'specialist'. Lives will be lost.

This hospital covers such a large area it is a disgrace that a trauma unit is unlikely to be set up here.
