Antiquated system, time to update your appointment system for the 21St.century

The simplest solution is to not have an appointment set up at all. There are complaints that so many appointments are missed, no appointments, none missed its as simple as that. Take a number wait your turn. If you need to see a doctor in the morning then you're probably too poorly to go to work, if it's not urgent go after work. There should be a dedicated service for babies and OAPs.

The current system for appointments is poor . I think all the proposed changes would be a positive step in the right direction .

Have a walk in and wait system with 1 doctor, first come first served basis

People are getting ready for work and children ready for school at 8am. The time to call needs to be changed, plus you can't ask for a female doctor with the currant system.

What about appointments done via internet such as Skype. They are trialling these style appointments at other surgeries throughout uk and cuts down on appointment waiting times massively.

Being able to walk into surgery & book an appointment would be nice, as would having one appointment with a single practitioner/nurse for two different things ie: flu jab/blood pressure check/inr

Not a very good system as it stands.

I'm so pleased someone has started this petition!! I know so many people, myself included who have had to go to A and E because they have been able to get an appointment, it's ridiculous. And why does no one answer the phone at argyle in the afternoon??? What are all the receptionists doing?? Probably off with stress due to having to deal with all the angry patients!

Not everyone can get access to a phone between 8am and 9am if they are working

Should allow forward-booked appointments for non-urgent matters, and on the day appointments for urgent stuff. Worked perfectly well in my old surgery.

Not sure what they can do but having to phone over 100 times just to get through to find there are no appointments left has to stop. Old people like my mother just give up and then have to suffer which is wrong

I have never known(and hopefully will never) such a draconian approach to making doctors appointments as in our argyle clinic..Whoever thought of this idea whether one or many should exit this planet.Absolutely disgraceful, time consuming, infuriatingly expense(our expense) bordering on cruelty as can never get an appointment after ringing and ringing relentlessly to find when one answers a few minutes after eight to hear "sorry all todays appointments have gone" aagghh..to kill or not to kill!! That is the feeling for me and I guess for the majority..Frustrating is putting it mildly! Evaluate, assess, an open vote to the patients who painfully (in more ways than one) telephone and visit your surgeries in pembroke and pembroke dock. Change it and change it soon!

Should be able to make non urgent appointments at reception. Not acceptable takes to long to make appoitment over the phone if any one answers. Might be ok if you don't work but for working families diabolical. Charge £10 for no shows
