Unbelievably stressful system, more lines and more people to answer them would help. How about a second phone in period in the early afternoon too?

please someone come up with a good solution ,I don't know how the system will change as something new is always changed to something elce , just as we are all getting used to the new one ? it would help if there was polite, counter staff, not all are like this but the few that are very rude give all the other reception staff a bad name, their attitude towards customers is so disrespectful ,rude as if they are the doctors ive even had one put the phone down on me before, we all have bad days .......but not bad weeks and months Q WHY IS IT THAT WHEN A DOCTOR ASKS YOU TO COME BACK IN TWO WEEKS FOR AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED REGULARLY YOU TRY TO MAKE THE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT ONLY TO BE TOLD THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS YOU HAVE TO RING ON THE DAY AND HOPE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELCE [RUDE OR WHAT] just to close im a nanna of a young disabled granddaughter who has life changing ilnesses and can get very poorly very quickly and you tell the receptionist and she STILL tells you we dnt have an appointment left if it's that bad bring her to hospital????????????????? i was under the impression yr gp is the first port of call to save the hospital staff and A&E being too full , i could continue but won't but please before people die please get the system right very worried P Dock nanna & mum xxx

It is an absolute nightmare trying to get an appointment I dread 8am coming when I know an appointment is needed as I just know I'll be stuck to my phone for a good 15-45mins redialling and redialling the number it taken 4days to get an appointment before now to then be asked by the doctor why I hadn't brought my child in sooner!! Something needs to change!!

Terrible system no continuity of care. What about people with no phones. Some appointments for people with non emergency or ongoing illnesses, wait in turn for your go for emergencies or triage so those needing Dr quicker get seen. Agree with email cancellations text cancellation too. But also face to face for those with no phones there are plenty.

Ridiculous system, if you can it that. A system? How anybody who is ill or elderly can go though that??? This been going on for years. Argyle surgery was heralded and promised to be, a new age of healthcare to cure all ill's. Would help if you could actually get to make an appointment to get cured? What a they paying that surgery manageress for? Not for her common sense that's for sure. By reading her feeble and pathetic excuses in the local paper. May actually be cheaper to go private than to pay the huge phone bill. Not to mention unnecessary the stress this stupid set up causes. This is not rocket science. Yet seems to be the stupid way we go about things in the UK. Putting up with deplorable service. Well enough is enough! Pull your finger out your arse and get it sorted!

Have a non appointment time say 1200 - 1400 every day when you just wait your turn, and also extend surgery hours to 1900hrs every day and have Saturday and Sunday openings, as suggested by Tories, one thing they have got right.

In common with other health professionals, e.g Dentists, Opticians it should be easy to book Doctor's appointments in advance.

Booking an advanced appointment to see your own GP would be a bonus

It is hard enough to get an appointment when you have shortcuts on your phone. If you have to dial the number in full every time some elderly people must be really struggling.

For people who have to get to work for 9am cannot stay on the phone from 8am for half hour - we do have a workplace to get to!

Service is good when you can get an appointment, but current booking arrangements are not fit for purpose. If lack of GPs is the root of the problem, then additional nurse practioners should be employed - they can handle many health issues very effectively and fast track any serious concerns to a GP.

To get an appointment, my husband, myself, and my 2 sons will all start ringing and we will use whoever phone gets though first, even doing this we sometime still cant get an appointment.
