ARE YOU LIVING UNDER THE NEW MANSTON AIRPORT FLIGHTPATHS?

There is so much evidence both historical and from commissioned reports that the airport is not needed or viable. The only reason it has been able to get this far is due to exaggerated claims, vested interests of certain individuals in influential positions, and lies and obfuscations from the airport promoters. It should never have got this far,and so many people are left facing the prospect of noise and pollution if it goes ahead.

Why would a government go against their own examiners who have said in their opinion the cargo hub shouldnt be opened? We have a thriving and growing tourist industry in Ramsgate, beautiful beaches, that will be ruined with cargo planes thundering overhead and thats without the pollution issues, we did sign the Paris agreement didnt we? Seems like a total contradiction.Maybe the minister who gave the go ahead would like to come down from Pendle and visit the beautiful area that his signature is about to destroy. Really this defies belief.Stop this cargo hub.

More consultation needed on proposed flight paths

I am terribly concerned about noise levels and the short period of night time 11pm-6am when flights should stop (but probably won't due to chartered flights). The surrounding area, tourism and wildlife will be ruined beyond repair.

How can they justify no diesel cars, bonfires, wood and coal fires in the home and say noisy polluting planes are ok!! They don’t mention pollution and road chaos when it comes to onward movement of cargo of course!!

The noise will be unbearable for people like me who have to be up at 5am for work, as it was when it was open before, the pollution will be bad as will traffic on the roads.

They fly very low over Herne Bay. I was at a children's play in Herne Bay junior school when the plane was flying so low and noisily that it stopped the play as everyone thought it was going to crash.

This is shocking. RSP have lied about this all along. Everyone in a vast area will be adversely affected by this.

These proposals are horrendous and will totally disrupt our village and the surrounding areas.

Freight will need to be transported from Manston yet the road system is inadequate for today’s traffic and large vehicles will only add to pollution and damage to road surfaces together with making the roads less safe particularly the two lane M2

Local jobs yes but not at a cost of quality of life. Flights should avoid built up areas

The M2 will need upgrading before the extra freight hits the roads

My concerns are more about the ROAD congestion that reopening Manston will inevitably cause to an area that already cannot cope with traffic, with small country lanes unsuitable for lorries and even the closest motorway being only a double carriageway. This was demonstrated very clearly when the govt ran a trial to move a relatively small number of lorries from Manston to Dover as part of Brexit planning. Thanet has good agricultural land being lost to housing (that in itself will, again, increase road traffic and pollution). With an ineffective local council and MPs, it seems that nobody is looking at the overall picture here and making decisions about what may work best!

my daughter has asthma and is Autistic. She struggles to sleep and has high anxiety. Night flights would have a serious impact on her health and wellbeing. As an adopted child, we made a promise to social services and the looked after child team that we would do our best for her and ask for help when needed.

SMA said Ramsgate and Herne Bay are a small price to pay, Sec. of State obviously agrees.

I cannot believe that this disastrous decision has been made for East Kent against the Government's own Examining Agency's decision. The damage to the climate and the impact on the quality of life for the surrounding towns and villages will be devastating. These large cargo planes are banned at Heathrow...and the chances are, Manston will also be using night flights. Absolutely disgraceful. The Examining Agency stated that the DCO was not needed as other airports in the UK could easily be picked up at existing airports. The Agency also stated that the damage to the environment and quality of life for the surrounding areas was not acceptable. This must be stopped otherwise living in East Kent will be blighted.

Has it’s mainly the people that want this airport live on Thanet let them put up with the noise not Herne Bay

I live under the last manston flight path in Herne bay and that was noisy then I’m also a shift worker on the railway so it was great when it was shut as I could get to sleep at all the unusual times needed with my job. I’m not selfish in that I understand the need of others and jobs but I hate noise pollution and I think with the climate the way it is the pollution is not needed from these out of date aircraft. The airport isn’t needed it’s just going to mean more lorries on our roads with all the added pollution and mess they generate. Keep it green and clean something the owners of manston couldn’t care less about they don’t live here so all the time money is going in the shareholders pockets they won’t care. Keep it closed for all of us to breath better air.
