OUR BELOVED ACHARYA IS BACK

With Acharya, Thayar & Perumal Anugraham, Swami Ramanuja idol has been reinstated back into the temple. We sincerely thank Novi Sri Venkateswara Temple administration & board of directors who took this important and significant step on the 1000th Jayanthi day of Swami Ramanuja. We also thank all of you who signed the petition and extended your support in this kainkaryam.

Update 1: It has been over 2.5 months and Goshti members have not been granted access to the temple board for providing our views, in spite of requesting it several times.

Update 2: After several internal board meetings, the Temple Governing body seems to be prepared to bring Swami Ramanuja's Idol back into the temple. While doing so they are also contemplating on installing Acharyas from other sampradayams in the temple. Specifically the idols of Shankaracharya and Madvacharya. While these are great acharyas from the respective sampradaya and devotees of Lord Srivenkateshwara, their installation in the temple along side Swami Ramanujacharya is unprecedented and against all traditions.

After rectifying one mistake, the Temple Governing Body is heading towards another bigger mistake. Such actions will only divide the community rather than bringing them together. Ghoshti members have sent a letter to the Board highlighting this mistake and have asked the board to change their stand.

As you may have heard the news, Novi Sri Venkateswara Temple administration & board of directors have made the decision to not have the Archa: thirume:ni (vigraham) of Jagada:cha:rya Swa:mi Ra:ma:nuja in the temple premises.

On December 18th, the Archa: idol of Swa:mi was removed from the sanctum without following proper procedure. The Board has also chosen to ignore the tradition followed at Tirumala where Swami Ramanuja is considered as the Acharya and has a sannidhi inside the temple. The decision to not have Swami’s vigraham in the Novi temple seems to have been made based on personal preferences and not consulting spiritual authorities, Detroit Ghoshti members and the religious community. The right to be a trustee/manage a temple does not carry with it the right to change a ritual/practice in use in that temple.This is an apach:ram to the a:cha:rya who has been present in the temple since its inception and whose 1000th anniversary is currently being celebrated in a grand manner across the world.

As much as some of us are trying to correct this grave error, we cannot accomplish this goal on our own. We absolutely need the support of all the devotees and volunteers. We call on all of you to take immediate action unanimously, as this is crucial for the change to be made. We are seeking a meeting with the board members and need all of you to attend as well. We therefore humbly ask you to kindly take a couple minutes to sign the petition we have started.

అందరికీ మన నోవై శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరాలయ కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులు, శ్రీ రామానుజులవారి విగ్రహ విషయమై తీసుకున్న ఆకస్మిక ఆశ్చర్యకరమైన నిర్ణయం గురించి ఈసరికే తెలిసిఉంటుందని తలుస్తున్నాము. ఆలయ కార్యవర్గం వారు జగదాచార్య స్వామి రామానుజులవారు అర్చక తిరుమణి అల్లయ ప్రాంగణంలో ఉండడానికి వీలు లేదని నిర్ణయంచేసారు. ఈ నిర్ణయానుసారంగా, గతనెల అంటే డిసెంబరు 18వ తేదీన, రామానుజ స్వామి వారి అర్చక తిరుమణి శ్రీ వారి సన్నిధి నుండి తీసివేయబడింది. ఆలయ కార్యవర్గం రామానుజులవారి విగ్రహాన్ని తొలగించే సమయం లో పద్దతి పాటించలేదు. అంతే కాకుండా, కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులు శ్రీ రామానుజులవారు తిరుమల శ్రీవారికి ఆచార్యులుగా గుర్తింపబడ్డారని, తిరుమల శ్రీవారి ఆలయం లో శ్రీ రామానుజులవారి విగ్రహం ఉందనీ, మన నోవై ఆలయంలో కూడ ఇదే సంప్రదాయం పాటించాలనే విషయాన్ని పూర్తిగా నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసారు. ఈ విషయంలో పండితులని, డెట్రాయిట్ గోష్టి బృందాన్ని మరియు మత పెద్దలని సంప్రదించకుండా వ్యవహరించడం కార్యవర్గ సభ్యుల సొంత ప్రయోజనానికే అని తెలుస్తున్నది. కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులు అయినంత మాత్రాన వారి ఇష్టానుసారంగ వ్యవహరించడం, ఆలయ సాంప్రదాయాలు, పద్దతులు పాటించకపోవడం ఏవిధంగానూ సరికాదు. అందులోనూ ఈ సంవత్సరం శ్రీ రామానుజులవారి 1000వ జయంతి ఉత్సవాలు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా గొప్ప వేడుక గా జరుపుకుంటున్న వేళ, ఈ ఆలయం స్థాపించినప్పటినుండీ ఉన్న అచార్యుల విగ్రహం తొలగించడం వారికి అపచారం చేయడమే.

శ్రీ రామానుజులవారి విగ్రహం లేకుండా రాబోయే ఎన్నొ ఉత్సవాలు జరుపుకోవడం సరి కాదు. ఈ తప్పిదాన్ని సరిచేయడానికి మనము కొంతమంది ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నాము కానీ ఈ మహత్తరమైన పని జరగాలంటే మీ అందరి సహయం కూడా ఎంతో అవసరం. ఇది మనలో కొంతమంది వల్ల జరిగే పని కాదు. అందువలన మీరూందరూ దయచేసి ఈ గొప్ప పనిలో మీ వంతు సహయ సహకారాలు చేయమని కోరుతున్నాము. ఈ విషయం గురించి మాట్లడడానికి ఆలయ కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులతో సమావేశం కావడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నాము. ఈ సమావేశానికి మీరు అందరూ కూడా రావలసిందిగా కోరుతున్నాము.
