Please Give Your Support to ArborVitae to Stay in New Paltz

Please keep the school!

I am a second year student at ArborVitae and I am looking forward to continuing my studies as a third year student this coming fall. I would be devastated if ArborVitae cannot stay at its current home. ArborVitae has contributed so much to the community as well as myself. I wouldn't be on the right path if it wasn't for this school. Please have a heart for those who have been positively impacted by this wonderful school.

I attended the school in Manhattan/Brooklyn , but I feel New Paltz is a more fitting home. Arbor Vitae is a gift for the land and all the people that surround it. Keeping it there would only be a positive movement for all that live in the area and beyond

Hudson Valley Resident

Arborvitae has nurtured so many dedicated herbalists, many of whom I know and work with and learn from all the time. These herbalists are doing powerful healing work, and they do so much to cultivate a deeper, healthier human relationship with plants and the environment. Please keep Arborvitae open!

I am student at Arborvitae that has just completed my second year. This school has been the most life changing experience for me on my path of learning herbalism. The schools location change at the start of my second year has truly enhanced the learning/educational experience by far and in my perspective has allowed the school to fully commit to its mission to not only its students but nearby communities. As someone who travels to the school from a neighboring state, this location in New Paltz has made traveling much easier & more convenient for me while also giving me great opportunities to learn more about New Paltz itself! I feel that Arborvitae has potential to create an even bigger impact on its students and community (more than it already has) if given the opportunity to remain at its current home for the long term. This is a school that is perfectly aligned with the New Paltz community and can share valuable knowledge that many communities do not have access to today.

I am so proud and grateful to be a student of Arbor Vitae. It’s not everyday that you find a group of people so vibrant and dedicated to agrarian values. It would be a huge disservice to have the school leave the special property on Huguenot Street where it is so valued. We need more opportunities to connect people with the land in the future where access to vast stretches of land and becoming fewer and further between. I hope that we can continue to learn in New Paltz and that beyond our direct education experience, we can remain and demonstrate how impactful a shared love of the land can unite and benefit not only our school community but how it ripples out into all local communities.
