Having the school in New Paltz is and will continue to be, a huge asset to the area. They are doing such good work!

ArborVitae's teachings emphasize the care we give to ourselves, community, and the land that sustains us all. There is no doubt in my mind that ArborVitae is a critical asset to Huguenot St, New Paltz, and the larger community there. I am confident that ArborVitae will not only preserve the traditional use of the property there, but will enrich its ecosystem with the type of land stewardship, community building, and wisdom needed for humanity to move beyond the Anthropocene. After battling a dizzying array of serious health issues, I owe my recovery from disability to this school. I am now a clinical herbalist who received my training at ArborVitae and use my knowledge to help others recovering from chronic illness, especially among the BIPOC LGBTQIA+2S communities.

This is a life changing place it needs to remain where it is. Please allow ArborVitae to keep teaching. Thank you

By way of the teachers and practitioners in the Arbor Vitae community, I have received tremendous healing and invaluable self-empowering education. To me, herbal education and practice is completely aligned with the agricultural designation of the property and the school is a boon to the town and surrounding communities.

I am writing to show my support of the ArborVitae School of Herbalism. As the parent of an ArborVitae student, I know first-hand the value of the training they provide and their focus on land stewardship. Being guided by an Herbalist I was introduced to during my daughter's time at the school has done wonders for my health. This type of exposure has also changed the way I connect to and provide stewardship over my land! I believe that their presence New Paltz is a true gift to the community today and in the future.

Arborvitae is assuring a positive future for New Paltz, and that should be taken seriously. Please welcome their educational efforts in the community.

Becoming a student at ArborVitae was among the best decisions I have ever made. I met teachers who taught me the history of the land, and the importance of its maintenance and care. Even after graduation, they remain an actively important part of my life. I received instruction and guidance that has allowed me to be of better service to my community - and the confidence to remain of service, even in these trying times for wellness. My classmates have become family to me. ArborVitae is a blessing to all who step through its doors. I have seen firsthand the their deep and abiding respect for the community of New Paltz. They are more than capable of preserving the historical nature of 181 Huguenot Street. The community stands to benefit deeply from the presence of ArborVitae.

I am writing to show my support for the ArborVitae School of Herbalism's presence on Huguenot St. The traditional/ historic use of plant and environmental medicines is certainly connected to the raising of awareness about our region's history. And being so close to the Nyquist Nature preserve the school's focus on environmental stewardship is clearly another connection that enhances our collective care and concern for this unique educational environment.

As a long-time Hudson Valley resident, past ArborVitae student, and frequent New Paltz visitor, I urge you to consider Arbor Vitae's petition to continue operating the school at its present location. I think it is fitting and in line with the neighborhood character and a wonderful addition to New Paltz. Thank you for your consideration.

I have been visiting New Paltz for many years and it was such a delight to hear my school has found a lovely location in New Paltz since I know of so many communities that benefit from the presence and service of Arbor Vitae for their health, sustainable and revitalizing connection of the land, and the community. As an alumni and now an herbalist, their teaching have guided me and guiding my communities the importance of land stewardship and beyond. I can proudly say that Arborvitae is and will truly be a wonderful addition to New Paltz community and excited to explore how we can nurture the land more.

I completed my first year at Arborvitae this past May, and it has been an incredibly transformative year for me. And I have fallen in love with New Paltz and the Hudson Valley! I adore this community with my whole heart.

ArborVitae has been a good neighbor, and I support the school in the neighborhood. Their mission comports with the agricultural use of the land on the property.

I just graduated from Arbor Vitae's 3-year program and am now pursuing a practice in traditional medicine for farm animals. AV plays a crucial role in teaching responsible stewardship of the local land, its flora, its fauna, and its people. Its mission and practices are totally in line with the farmstead's historic character & history. I can imagine no better tenant for that address.
