I was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2013. Eye cancer or Ocular Melanoma to be exact. This affects the sight and in 50% of cases spreads to the liver or other organs. There is currently no cure for liver cancer but there is treatment which can prolong your life. My cancer has not spread or not that I know of. I have had treatment to my left eye which I have scanned regularly but this is not my issue.

My issue is in Scotland the NHS do. Ot offer any type of MRI scan to help detect metastatic liver disease, MRI scans are the best method in detecting any early spread which anyone am sure would want, I know I do. I have had an ultrasound scan of my liver, this method does not detect lesions soon enough. I wish to petition the NHS in Scotland to permit sufferers of this disease to have a voice in their own care pathway. To be allowed to choose to have appropriate scans to allow us if our cancer does spread to live a little longer. Enhanced MRI scans are essential in my mind but unfortunately not in the minds of those who are meant to care for us. Please help me and other sufferers of Ocular Melanoma petition the powers that be in the NHS Scotland to overturn their decision not to permit us to be given MRI scans. We are like sufferers of other cancers entitled to live. There are no campaigns thrown at Ocular Melanoma, no funds, no support. We have one charity in England fighting for our cause so we need your support....PLEASE HELP
