TRIM is a OS feature required to do background tasks on a SSD hard disk to allow the OS to determine blocks that can be cleared up and areas of the drive that can readily be written to. Without TRIM the performance of an SSD is expected to degrade significantly over time.
As a result, this means only those SSDs purchased from Apple are supported which I believe to be of poor customer service and not to protect customers. I'm certain this can easily be enabled for 3rd party SSD TRIM whilst keeping the new kext security feature enabled.
Please sign this petition to convince Apple to enable TRIM within Mac OSX for all 3rd party SSDs.

If we are to insist that OSX is the best opperatihg system then apple should at least provide the same features that windows has had for years now. Like native third party TRIM SUPPORT!
