Sick of talking to eircom about the Broadband at home. Terrible that they are still charging a full price for a substandard service. They have told me that there is no plan to upgrade the exchange this year.

The broadband in the ballyvourney area is nothing short of disgraceful. I measured the speed a few days ago at 0.29 mb.!!

Extremely poor service 24/7, not getting anywhere near the speed we are paying for.

Lack of investment by Eircom is the big issue here. The Eircom technicians are excellent but they are limited by the current Eircom infrastructure. The small local exchanges cannot handle the the traffic especially in the evening time when most people are at home and want to use it. Broadband speed for me at 7.00 am is around 2.5mbps but at 7.00 pm when I need it badly, it has gone as low as 125kbps. I am paying for something that Is not being delivered, Eircom cover themselves by stating it 'up to' 3mbps. Most of the local business people have given up on Eircom. It is only a matter of time until the likes of Vodafone, who now have 4G available locally with speeds of over 30mbps, may offer unlimited broadband thereby eliminating the need for fixed line phones. It is time for Eircom to act now before they start loosing customers!
