The organizers finally agreed to raise the cap and open up more space for our players. It has been a long and draining road to get this result but I am glad we pushed until the very end. We should keep an eye on how the event runs to ensure …
APEX 2014 is the largest Smash-centric tournament in the entire world. Players spend thousands of dollars each year to travel to APEX to represent their country for nearly a dozen different games, and Project M is no exception. Started initially as a simple fan-modification of Brawl, Project M has truly blossomed into its own beast, inspiring hundreds to exclusively play Project M and thousands to play it in tandem with other games. Several Project M-only tournaments have sprouted up throughout the US and it's also been featured at several high-profile Melee events.

Unfortunately, Project M has been relegated to a side-event at APEX (and reasonably so; it is less popular than the other games) with an entry cap of 128 players. It seems to have far exceeded expectations, however, as there is over a month and a half remaining of registration but it has already filled. In contrast, Super Smash Bros. 64 is also capped at 128 entrants but has less than half that at the time of writing. Several players who are traveling from across the country or even world won't be able to enter Project M because of this cap,
If you would like to enter Project M at APEX but were unable to register in time, or if you simply like Project M and want to see its community grow and prosper, please sign this petition to convince the APEX 2014 staff to raise the entry cap.
Seeing this community rally around the cap issue is heavy but meaningful. I am exhausted by the constant uphill battle to get us noticed, but seeing you all refuse to back down keeps me moving forward.

I really want to see Project M represented, and capping it at 128 entrants doesn't do this amazing mod justice. See you at Apex!

I feel that Apex 2014 is a unique and invaluable opportunity to have Project M grow and expand immensely and to get more people interested and wanting to pick it up. This is even more so after the amazing hype of the 3.0 release and all the buzz going on online.
The Apex staff have the potential to make history by raising the entry cap and providing the biggest PM tournament so far!

I wish I had the means to show how much I would love to see the Project M entrants cap raised for Apex, despite the fact that I won't be able to attend Apex myself.
