This is a petition against restricting business in downtown Keene NH. Specifically opposing an ordinance being discussed about restricting any new bars being opened within so many feet of any existing bar. Restricting the free marketplace downtown is detrimental to the vitality of downtown Keene NH. Downtown Keene NH should foster entrepeneurs and a free marketplace.
I really thought this might just go ignored when I first started tapping away at my keyboard but now the momentum here is honestly kind of shocking. Seeing all these people jump on board makes me feel like we might actually have a shot at keeping things open and vibrant downtown instead of just letting them strangle the local economy with rules that do not help anyone.

We want more options not fewer. This law makes zero sense if we want a vibrant downtown area.

Keene needs more life not less. This ordinance is just another way for the city to kill small business growth.

Ridiculous. Let the market decide if another bar can make it. Stay out of the way of people trying to build something.

I moved here for the small town feel not to have bureaucrats telling owners where they can open up shop.
