The Canadian government has an abysmal record for animal cruelty, either because of poor laws, poor enforcement, or both. The seal hunt is well documented, as are brutal conditions faced by food animals. An over-looked problem is animal abuse laws and enforcement. The latest outrage is the sexual abuse of a dog in Windsor, Ontario; the brutal abuse of the animal was so extreme that authorities has to euthanize the animal. Abusers feel free to do their worst, because appropriate sanctions are not enforced or non-existent. 

We need to start sending the government a strong message that animal abuse will not be tolerated in this country, and if this message is ignored, the people will not support the Conservative government in the next election. 

I demand the government institute stronger animal cruelty laws, and properly enforce them to give a strong message to would-be abusers.
