Having an experienced, caring animal behaviorist would greatly help the dogs find homes and rescues quicker. And the dogs who suffer from severe aggression can be released of their demons peacefully.

As an ACCT volunteer, I deeply care about the dogs we house and helping them homeless animals of Philadelphia is extremely fulfilling to me; however, I no longer feel safe volunteering at ACCT. Recently I had to have surgery, be hospitalized for 3 days and am going to therapy to regain my hand movements due to a dog bite that happened at ACCT. That bite was completely unprovoked and could’ve been prevented. I wasn’t the only one to get bit recently and won’t be the last, unless action is taken.

The staff and volunteers do so much for the animals. It isn't fair to put anyone in risk by setting a dog and handler up for for failure.

To those making this decision: If this we’re your spouse, child, family member, friend, friends child, neighbor, etc what would you think then? Would you encourage them to continue volunteering w the shelter dogs WITHOUT a proper behavior evaluation? Think about that.
