I can't imagine anyone else heading the GC Varsity team other than coach Stefanelli. My nephew played his freshman year coming from MV under coach Andy and it was his best year playing football!

Andy Stefanelli should make an excellent head coach for your football program. I met Andy in 1985 and have know him to be of outstanding character and integrity. In addition, his football IQ is VERY high and you wont find a more dedicated and tireless leader for your program. He also understands how to recruit and how to help HS players get connected for college opportunities. To Whom It May Concern: I'm writing on behalf of Andy Stefanelli and his interest in the Head Varsity Football Coach position. I've known Andy for almost 35 years. He epitomizes what a GC alumnus should be. Dedicated, determined, motivated, caring, loving and loyal. He's a man's man. He's the one you want as a teammate or as a friend for life. I know first hand what he was like as both a teammate in high school and college. He was a co-captain for the 1985 and 1986 Western Maryland College football team. He understood at a young age what leadership meant, and what was expected. He started as sophomore, but was more than capable of starting as a Freshman. One of the reasons I never joined a fraternity was because of Andy and his friends. I didn't need the acceptance from a fraternity, because I already had it. It's no secret, he understands football. He's a football technician. But more importantly, he understands what a GC student should be like. If I had to do it all over again, i would want Andy as my coach. Not just because he knows how to win, but because he's a man of integrity and character. There's a reason why he and I have kept in contact over the years, despite the distance and time between visits. Andy would've done well in any field he chose out of college. What he does now, is what he chose, and he's been a great example as a husband, father, friend, business owner and coach. Look no further, Andy is the right person for this position. I have known Andy Stefanelli for over 30 years, As our first interactions were as fellow teammates playing football at McDaniel (Western Maryland) College, I have had the fortunate perspective of seeing him perform as a player before a coach. During our college years playing football, there was no doubt in my mind that Andy would transition to coaching. His knowledge of football and preparation for games was impressive; however, more impressive was the way in which he taught, motivated and led his fellow teammates. I highly recommend Andy for the position of Varsity Head Coach. I am confident he will not only have his players prepared for every game, but he will be a positive force in preparing these young men for life after high school football.
