The curtains are staying open and this result is finally official. I am exhausted by the fight but the music gets to live on because you refused to look away. We won this one and I hope the stage stays bright for a long time.

Final supporters
As most of the theater community has heard, Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812 is to close on September 3rd, 2017. This news is heartbreaking for it was the most nominated show of the tony season. As an expierienced audience member, I have seen the show and let me tell you, it is honestly the best musical from this past season. You can never relive The Great Comet for its originality. Wherever you sit in the theater, there is interaction. And when I say everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. This show is an original masterpiece by Dave Malloy (who by the way wrote EVERYTHING FOR THIS SHOW. a.k.a orchestrations, book, lines, and etc.) It would be such a shame for this show to close after all of the years of work that have been put into the show. Never again can you find a show so original and inspiring.

The exhaustion is setting in but watching the numbers climb toward five hundred keeps me going. We need to push through this wall so they know we are not walking away from this masterpiece yet.

It's incredible this show - I generally believed this was going to be a classic, to have a lasting run like Phantom.... it's sad to see it leave - it could have been revolutionary: it is unique
I know that great comet is closing for multiple reasons, a lot being they couldn't get enough ticket sails. So I don't necessarily think this petition will do anything, but by this point we gotta try anything. And even if it doesn't do anything it may show the cast how much this show means to people.
Despite recent controversy over casting of male lead, Pierre, overall lower sales rates than that if Dear Evan Hansen, The Great Comet is captivating and revolutionary as a show in it's own right. It deserves to stay on Broadway for the following season.
This show is phenomenal! The cast is beautifully diverse & talented, and the show does not deserve to be closed because of one mistake. I feel so bad for Oak because he is an ASTONISHING Pierre, but this casting mistake does not define the show as a whole. This talented cast deserves more time!
A show that inspires, includes, and leaves people breathless is not one to go silently. Nor should it go for those reasons. The Comet brought all people together, allowed them to share laughs and pain, and made them feel involved in something greater. A show like this is rare.

I saw the great comet in March and I had table seats. Let me just say that it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. This show means so much to me and it beaks my heart to know that it's closing.
