Andrew Jensen for President
Hello again everyone!
I have acquired an abundance of knowledge of each and every one of you over this last year, and can confidently say that I understand the class on a personal level.
I want to keep it honest here. Making changes through the SBA isn't easy. It is a lot harder than it seemed to be at the beginning of the year and there is an entire process for each and every change made to the class. With that said, I am on a personal level with Francine Herlehy, Cristina Loebach, Dean Broughton and all of the SBA executives on the UDM side of the program. This is an extremely important feature to have when working closely with faculty across the border. I have learned a lot from this class this year and this is what I want to incorporate into my plan. Every action hosted on behalf of the SBA will now be class driven through the use of polls. The majority rules and if the majority votes against a change then it will not happen. Any issues brought to the SBA will be communicated directly to faculty and all answers will be posted as soon as possible.
As the president of the SBA it is important not only to know your class but to understand how the system works. I understand the system from an individual perspective and on the perspective of the faculty members and staff. UDM is a different faculty and that is important to remember. Moving into this upcoming year, things will be different and having these unique personal connections will help the process of the SBA and will make life much easier for our students. This year I will plan to implement changes that are actually possible. No empty promises, only legitimate hard work.
Next is what I bring to the table. This year alone, I have spear headed the need for professional headshots (and am still in talks with faculty about this), created an SBA instagram account, worked with faculty on class accommodations and course material, helped students with personal issues and most importantly, learned from my mistakes. This will be a change to the SBA, but this change will get things done. Efficiency, Honesty, Majority. That will be the Motto of the SBA this upcoming year.
Vote for me, give me a chance, I won't let you down.
