Art Center has saddled its self with debt again and again instead of building endowment.. Art Center needs to look beyond corporatist schemes. Cooper Union once the leader in fiscal responsibility has fallen to the allure of banker’s plunder.

I believe ArtCenter’s ‘VALUE’ lies within their strong and powerful faculty and it’s simply disheartening to see that the management thinks otherwise or so its evident through their actions. It’ll only be justified if they recognizes this and engages with the faculty transparently and devises FAIR labour practices to support them.
I support Artcenter Faculty and the Faculty Federation.

There’s so many things that went on during today’s forum (with the birth rate and weird data comparisons back from 2013 which is basically irrelevant now). Rather than having a new Dean for a different revenue stream, why not pay the Professors what they’re owed and have some take over for out reach for the ArtCenter at night programs? Additionally, why undermine higher education and those with bachelors degrees earned from the school by directing the focus into certification programs? Wouldn’t that affect the schools credibility in the long run?

Fair pay, fair contract. We constantly talk about being paid fairly as designers, faculty deserve the same support and compensation to back it up.

To be frank, admin's inability to negotiate in good faith—for a full year—is appalling. Other art & design schools have done so successfully, so it reflects poorly on ArtCenter, a supposed leader in this space, to continue delaying this form of progress. Please prioritize ACFF and your students by paying your faculty a fair, living wage.

Students come to this school for the teachers, they are the foundation of this school and what students pay for. These instructors have passed down knowledge from generations who have taught at this school and are irreplaceable as body of faculty.

The faculty at Art Center work extremely hard for their students and deserve contracts that work for them.

ArtCenter is built on its faculty’s expertise. We were the first school to put practicing artists and designers in the classroom, and it gave students an incredible step up when it came time to start their practice or find a great place to work. ArtCenter should strive to not only produce the best graduates, but to be an attractive workplace for skilled teachers.

Every Alumni knows the value of our faculty. What does administration even do for us after graduation?
