My 8 year old is now suffering from some variation of PANS/basal ganglia encephalitis, and finding accessible resources for proper testing, treatment, and follow up is near impossible. We are having to take it that much slower to find the funds to even get on waitlists for knowledgeable practitioners, almost none of whom accept health insurance because of the nature of the diagnosis and treatments. We have family and friends dealing with even more severe symptoms in their children, some with multiple children suffering, who have to pick and choose who gets what they need because it is so ridiculously expensive for simple blood tests and consultations. Let's continue to spread information and awareness and work for more research.

Dear Senator Kennedy, thank you for everything yiu are doing to help families who are in desperate need for answers. We have been in an 18 year nightmare with our 20 year old daughter with PANS. Traditional medicine has failed us time and time again. Not to mention drained us financially, emotionally ,and physically. We need nation awareness and support. Thank you.

As a psychologist in public school, I can arrest that this is literally an epidemic with a skyrocketing number of children with one or more neuropsychiatric disorder.

I have many friends with children who have PANS. Please help these families.
