I do not find the right words of sympathy but just direly hope that Ukrainians will soon be savely rescued from that brutal suppression. I once visited the Economic Academy of Ternopil, memories that now match with imaginations how people there might be scared by such unprecedented aggression.

Jeder Krieg ist ein unnötiger Rückschlag für die Menschheit und dient meist nur zum Machterhalt Einzelner.

President Putin, there is still a chance to withdraw from Ukraine and to prevent that you end up in the same position as Hitler in the second World War! Withdraw before your reputation has become an eternal shame for humanity!

Science needs peace. Science should work towards peace. Science does not know territories or borders.

Calling for peace is not enough. Putin and his power system must be forced, through the sheer weight of economic sanctions, to come to terms.

Looks like humans can´t evolve into a better balanced, more rational species - some still showing the same primitive raw-thinking and behavior as was more common in prehistoric societies. Sad to see how easily state-controlled high tech media can brainwash large portions of nation´s population, and how little such abusive behavior can be countered. What distinguishes Russia from the West (sensu lato) is a historical lack of a succesful people´s movement or revolution with a shared humanistic background (the Russian Revolution evidently was not humanistic). Unlike other recent horrific military slaugther campaigns by Russia in Grosny or Syria, Ukraine has been steadily developing into a modern, democratic, citizen-involving/respecting country. In this regard, Russia still remains in the stone age ... Good we have these courageous and heroic Ukrainians. They are like a beacon, reminding us "other" citizen what it is worth fighting for.

I was born three years after WW2. Never had I thought that these nightmares would come back to Europe.

Stop war! Expel the dictator! Our future can only get better if/when we start pouring money in open-minded education everywhere! Until then, good luck, Ukraine!
