Humanity needs peace, freedom, cooperation, knowledge sharing to address the great common issues: health, sustainable development, equity, security for all. Wars of aggression not only destroy lives and cities, but also hope for a better world.

As a human I am appalled by the suffering and cost imposed by this flagrant violation of international law. As a scientist I am aghast at the breakdown of rationality and international cooperation that underpins science. This invasion demeans and reduces us all.

It is compelling to expel Russia from the UN council and convict Putin for crimes against humanity (including Polonium poisoning).

No one wins in a war...
Signing in support of peace, and against the senseless violence and invasion of Ukraine.
I also would like to express my deepest solidarity and support to the Ukrainian and Russian scientists and citizens who did not ask for anything but are paying the heavy price of this war.
