If there's a risk of them getting shot they should have armoured vests. They save people's lives, I believe that gets harder if they've been shot.

in a time like ours, it is important that we protect and help those that cannot do it for themselves. EMT's are not bulletproof and too often the target of attacks. if this can save them, save them. if the problem is that these vests would make them indistinguishable from law enforcement, make the vests in a certain color with red crosses if possible. this shouldn't stop people from being saved and able to save others
