Make 'em bright blue or yellow, to keep them from being intimidating. If they look like hazard equipment or construction vests due to coloration, they won't be scary--they'll show someone's supposed to be trusted to keep safe.

This is a no-brainer. Of course the people in the field trying to save people should be protected.

If the government won't deregulate guns then the only thing we can do is help protect the people who care for our injured.

Safety for the people helping us, in situations were no-one else will come to our aid, is of outmost priority. They risk their lives to help us, the least we can do is to try and protect them a little better while saving lives.

If someone is worried about their safety at job to the point they feel they need vests, give them the goddamn vests!

As the late Shia LaBeouf once said, "just do it." Thank you.

The fact that this is even a necessity these days is sickening, but first responders deserve this protection

In a country where Healthcare and Rapid-Response should be a right, not a privilege, it's paramount that the people, in whose hands we put our lives in a time of need, feel safe and are able to carry out their duties to the fullest of their capabilities. Ensuring the safety of PHC-Responders is an essential part of current society. Fully in-favour of this.

There is no excuse for not investing in the people that save lives. NONE.

I live in the greater Portland area and have seen the steady rise in violence with no constructive enforcement action from a seemingly oblivious city government. Please give the EMS protection that they deserve, before it is too late.

But the EMS their necessary gear.
