My dad worked as an EMS and currently works as a firefighter in my town. If my dad got shot while working because they didn't have a bulletproof vest I would cry.

It is the communities responsibility to protect its ems. even if you disagree... if your EMS techs feel safer and can do their job with less worry of being shot, then the answer is clear. get you head out of you ass.

As a resident of Tualatin, and an employee of a company in downtown, it'd mean a lot to know that we're doing what we can to help keep paramedics safe, when they do everything they can to save lives.

Prohibiting safety equipment that could save lives due to potential perception is short sighted and instant. Give them the damned vests.
