As the situations only get worse for our nations first responders, some sort of protection is a valuable recourse for all first responders.

I haven't even resided in Portland for 2 years and I know this is more than necessary from my experiences thus far.

The right of self-protection is given by God not man. Do your part to aid in protecting those who serve us.

I live in Bend, OR and feel that the EMS teams throughout the whole of the state should be allowed, if not required, to wear safety vests as first responders. Set a trend Portland, and make it a commonality in our nation, not an abnormality.

There's no good reason to not approve the safety of those walking into the terrible situations people make

Make it a bright safety colour with hi-vizability stripes. Combines scene safety with personal safety

These are people that dedicate their lives to saving others. They should be offered some measure of protection for their own lives.

As a first responder with a local fire department and 911 supervisor as long as there is a clear differentiation between police and EMS if they want to wear bulky and hot equipment they should be allowed. We only use body armor for rescue task force operations. Northern Wisconsin area.
