They should be kept as safe as any other responder!

All of our first responders should have the proper protective equipment.

The head medical director of AMR himself continually says that our job is changing for the worse in regards to violence. Yet all our company does is give us these lame online learning modules that no one learns from. It’s time for a real change and for them to show that they actually care about their people safety .

EMS do nothing but keep us safe - lets return the favor by trying to keep them as safe as possible to do the best job possible.

This is a good idea, though try going for another color like White with red letters, or do a high visibility yellow.

This is a great idea!

There are low profile body armors that hide well in jackets and offer excellent handgun protection

It's only fair to protect those who protect others.

I'm a little North of Portland, but even here I've been hearing about the assaults on EMS and firefighters. It's frankly sickening and I whole-heartedly agree with issuing body armor or providing an allowance for it.

I feel like this shouldn’t be an issue.

My dad was a paramedic that helped set up a medical first responder team that worked alongside SWAT in one of the towns we lived in. This stuff is seriously important. I can't imagine if he didn't come home one day because he wasn't given a vest to protect him.

It is ignorant and irresponsible to not allow EMS to wear all safety gear to ensure they come home safe at night.

Bullets at high velocities can't be healthy. Let your paramedics wear body armor.
