The Assyrian community is obsessively portrayed in official propaganda disseminated by Amer Hanna Fatuhi facing continuous but utterly unfounded allegations. The propaganda is shocking in it's volume and vehemence, it's scope and sophistication, cynically calculated to stir up antagonism against a peaceful community. Through such propaganda, the pattern of demonizing and dehumanizing a segment of society is a matter of grave concern as humanity is denied.

The international community has widely recognized the pivotal need to confront such acts of incitement to hatred and violence directed against ethnic minorities. The protection of minorities against discrimination were among the fundamental principals of the Universal Deceleration of Human Rights when it was first adopted in 1948. Since, it has been repeatability reaffirmed and codified in numerous United Nations resolutions. The implementation of these rights is inextricably linked with the prohibition of hate speech. Article 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ('ICCPR') expressly asserts that;

"Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hated that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law."

Much of the propaganda and attacks disseminated by Amer Hanna Fatuhi are developed on gross distortions and misinterpretation of historical facts whereas others; a strategy of guilt by association through lumping Assyrians as a "cult" and "false ethnicity designed by colonialist powers". A central element of the escalating Fatuhi-led campaign is the extensive use of the World Wide Web ('www') and by other means, such as "educational seminars," to systematically distort Iraq's history and vilify the Assyrian populace in it's entirety. The diverse content of these human-rights violations demonstrates the historical revisionist's tremendous effort and commitment in advocating hate speech, segregation and incitement. The following are excerpts from an article published March, 26 2013 by Amer Hanna Fatuhi;

"the Nestorian tribes of Qochanis were relocated to Iran then Iraq in 1918 under the new made-up name Assyrians"

"The term Assyriology; neither is an ethnic name nor related to the Turkish-Nestorian imported group."

"so-called Assyrians' ethnicity"

The common allegation that the modern-day Assyrians were created by, or at least, have a historic connection with colonialist powers, specifically Britain are creations of anti-Assyrian propagandists and conspiracy theorists. No serious Anthropologist or Ethnographist has ever given credence to these far-fetched theories that seek to portray an ancient ethnic group indigenous to Iraq as a "foreign conspiracy" or to the absurd proposition that it was at its inception a creation of the British imperialist powers- and that today has undergone a metamorphosis such that an entire populace of over four million individuals, including children, operate as a "cult" or "false ethnicity". The preposterous theories are nothing more than a reflection of the moral bankruptcy of those that have to sustain their power through incitement to hatred.

Below is an excerpt from a comment published May 7, 2015 by Amer Hanna Fatuhi on the official 'Untold Story of Native Iraqis" social media page';

"... it is funny, that all those who are not happy with the book are from the so-called Assyrian cult..."

Despite this prolonged systematic human rights violations and attacks on the Assyrian community's integrity and values, the Assyrian community is not dispirited, demoralised or downtrodden. Nor have the Assyrian community risen up to counter-attack the propagandist with force Rather they have calmly stated their case and call upon human rights activists and organisations to review this matter.
