Mississippi must act to protect the voiceless. Animal cruelty, abuse and neglect cases in Mississippi are making the news - across the nation. This is not how Mississippi should be portrayed. Stop cruelty, abuse and neglect now. This will improve Mississippians quality of life and the state image.

Please step up and protect our animals that God intended for us to care for. We are their caregivers. Please do not turn your back on them. Thank you.

Animal torture and abuse is just a step away from serial killer/child abuser/people abuser. We cannot look away and not fully punish these horrible beings.

There is no excuse any longer for an animal to suffer abuse. Mississippi needs to create and enforce this law now.

This is a necessary that is overdue. I have had a neighbor threaten to shoot any outside cat and I have no repercussion. Rankin County laws allow that.

My opinion is if you can burn an animal your heartless enough to do it to a human. He ahouls go to jail for a very long time!!

The people who do these things to animals will do these same things to humans - we can't afford to let these people walk away with a $300 fine for torturing and killing a family pet. Please, make thesense heinous acts of cruelty a FELONY. No animal deserves to be tortured and no human being deserves to walk freely within our society after committing such a horrible, heartless crime.
