No animal should have to suffer needlessly. Law enforcement should be able to confiscate any animal being abused or mistreated.

Your animal welfare laws are extremely out dated and desperately need to catch up with the rest of the country at the least. Making owners be responsible will help cut down on the amount of unwanted litters, strays and attacks.

If we can't protect innocent animals just because it's the right thing to do, the FBI's findings of the link with escalating violent behavior should certainly highlight the serious need to identify & punish anyone suspected of animal cruelty.

Plz sign....Mississippi needs all the help they can get there r no laws in Mississippi for animals therefore many animals will suffer there dog fights,neglect, dumped and no consequence!!!

PLEASE amend the Mississippi Dog and Cat Protection Law. Two years ago, my neighbor shot my 14 year old Rat Terrier directly in the head at point blank with his "new" 9mm pistol. He was just having "fun". My little dog was not even on this scum bags property. My little dog was my companion and best friend for 14 years. He was a house dog who was very well loved and taken care of. The neighbor was arrested but only paid a total of $750.00 to the court. That's it. I BEG you to please change the laws.
