Help stop a housing development next to a SSSI meadow in Hereford

What a tragedy that, knowing how unethical and unpopular such a development would be, Bovis have insufficient interest in public opinion, the public purse and their reputation to decide not to pursue this appeal and are set on wasting public money in forcing the Council to fight their appeal. If they do pursue it, regardless of public interests, we must unite in our campaign to discourage the purchase of houses built by Bovis and withdraw public support from all other planning applications they propose.

This is a totally inappropriate development which will seriously damage the visual and natural environment.

I believe this development will seriously compromise the ancient Lammas meadow, an important site of special scientific interest and also negatively affect traffic and access to Hereford city.

Such a development would have an adverse effect on this extremely rare and historically important landscape.

This important site needs to be left as a public resource - both as a rare survival of this sort of land and as a wonerful amenity fo the local community.

I oppose the Bovis Homes planning application to build 135 homes in very close proximity to the Lugg Meadow SSSI. Evidence suggests that the development will have a very significant adverse impact on the SSSI.

Fully support objections to this planning application.

Apart from the adverse effects of this inappropriate application on the ecology of the Lugg Meadows, the lessons which should have been learnt from previous development on flood prone sites continue to be ignored by developers. At best they would address their site and move the problem somewhere else.

We need new homes but NOT here. SSSI sites should be protected from ant development

I am pleased to note that the application to build 135 homes at the rear of Aylestone Hill has been rejected by the council and I understand that there is now to be an appeal. The proximity of this proposed development to an SSSI is of some concern. This route into the city -I know it well - is already a difficult one and the prospect of more dwellings here ca only make matters worse. This view of the city on approach described as the Historic City of the Marches will be spoiled for ever. Idohope that this appeal will be declined

Any application which does not fully cover the potential for environmental damage should not be allowed.

I applaud the work produced by Herefordshire Council leading to the decision to Refuse this totally speculative and inappropriate application by a national developer seeking to 'windfall' planning approval on a site totally inappropriate for housing development of any kind.

SSSI's are valuable and rare ones such as this need protection - the impact would be serious and the appeal by Bovis should be turned down.

I know there is a need for housing but our wildlife and the environment need protecting too.

I am appalled that any builder would be so socially and ecologically irresponsible as to propose any development, let alone such a large one, right by one of the rarest meadows in the country.

We do nnot need more housing in Hereford if we take into account all developments already approved

Lugg Meadow simply must be protected

Most inappropriate site! There already is far too much congestion going in to Hereford along this route

let's keep our lovely countryside.

I fully support the attempt by the ALMA to stop Bovis Homes building on the site specified.
