Suffolk County Community College INCREASES their tuition bill by an ADDITIONAL $100 due to a new MANDATORY meal plan. The new meal plan AFFECTS students enrolled in 9 or more on-campus credits on either the Ammerman of Michael J. Grant campuses. If the money IS NOT used by the following SPRING semester, the students will NOT receive a refund! Why should this be allowed? It's OUR MONEY and we should be allowed to OPT-OUT!

It should be your choice where you want to eat and how your grocery money is spent. Low income students shouldn't be forced to pay for meals that are prepared and EBT/food stamps wouldn't even take at a public two year college.

This is an obvious scam to get more money from students. Suffolk is a commuter college so most students don't want to eat on campus. Also, there is not options for vegetarians and vegans.

Personally I think the meal plan is a good option for students who soend alot of their time at the school, like I do, but I do think it should be optional for students to decide what they want to do with their money.

Not fair, Some students that go away to school and dorm on campus have to get a meal plan. We go to a commuter school. I myself am barley on the campus to eat and if I were why would I want to eat school food!

so people who are paying more amount of money for classes have to pay an extra $100? thats ridiculous. some families are struggling to begin with and now they have to worry about an extra $100 for a food plan that no one asked for or have a choice in. not for nothing, alot of kids are paying for their own classes and barely making it. the orginal tuition is enough and thats not even counting the text books tht we have to buy that we barely even use. like its suffolk... a community college... a majority of the time i dont even eat there bc i go home after classes.. not to a dorm room lol. if theyre gunna make a mandatory meal plan it should atleast involve everyone (no matter how many credits yu take) and that would cut the price by alot. just a tad ridiculous to throw tht at us.
