I started playing as a youth myself and in my last year as a youth player began playing in these tournaments, being able to do so is a great way to transition into the larger adult tournaments and also allows for the youth to be mentored and learn from the players at these tournaments as well. It is a shame anyone would want to prevent this from happening.

Youth should be allowed to play - I am schocked that with the amount of talent that has come out of the youth program in Ontario that this ruling was even passed

I played ranked tournaments as a youth player from 16-18 and never had a problem. In fact I believe I'm a better player due the experience of playing ranked events.

My youngest daughter joined youth darts 2 years ago, if not allowed in venue nor allowed to play then how is she going to be able to improve just playing against other youths. She enjoys watching the pros of this sport play. Really unfair to her and all youth participants.

I 100% support this. I wouldnt be the player I am today if it wasn't for playing with those that were better then me. Your only as good was what you surround yourself with. The adults are a critical part of the developing youth.

This is wrong!
You'll take money from them for fees etc. yet deny them the opportunity to advance. Any politics involving kids is as dumb as the people running the organization.
What exactly is the "insurance issue"?
Are you worried about the maturity of a child in a sport that allows alcohol and mature adults kicking darts that have bounced off a wire and are now stuck in their legs.
It's not the kids that need to grow up here!

I've fought for the youth to play in adult tournaments before and I'll do it again. These youth players can hold their own and they have every right to show their talent

I don't mind youth coming to adult events it's only gonna make them better and as I feel darts slowly dying and our youth is what's gonna have to bring it back to life why not let them play who gives anyone the right to take that from them people need to quit playing god and let them play it's darts for god sakes there shouldn't be no reason why they can't and alcohol is no excuse because it's every where at least in this level of a tournament it's more controlled

As a former youth provincial player, and now as an adult provincial player, I've seen both sides of the issue. I see no reason why youth players shouldn't compete in an adult competition. In any sport, if a player is good enough to compete in a higher division, it's their right to have the chance.

I believe if we don't allow our youth exposure to the game of darts, it will fade away slowly. I see no harm in youth attending ranked events, generally the youth at any of these events have the best etiquette!
