Allowing youth to play will only elevate the standard of play and increase/maintain interest in youth looking to improve their game. Why not?

If we do not let our kids play with the older generation the intrest will be lost keep the game alive with the youth. Prime example is MVG lets live for today not the past.

I think banning youth dart players from attending and playing ranked tournaments is iinexcusrab. The youth have every right to play as any adult does and if the adults are afraid of a little competition then maybe they shouldn't be playing.

Playing around adult players will inspire the youths, learn good strategies and gain more knowledge and challenges to be much better players. Darts is a game loved by both youths and adults and lots of them are families and it is really nice when you play with your family around cheering and supporting you.

This is ridiculous. Some of the greatest Canadian players started out in the Youth program. Gary Broomhead, Chris White, David Fatum, the list goes on. Banning youth from attending ranked tournaments will reduce the amount of quality players for the next generation, which is what Darts should be striving for now more than ever.

I was a fortunate youth player because I was never discouraged or turned away from playing, once I was reasonably mature and competitive...hopefully darts Ontario can rectify the issue and give their youth a chance to show case!!

I agree totally with what is being said!!!! I have 2 boys who play youth darts and can be really good players... Ones allowed to play most events because he is 16 the other one not so much (he's 11).... The only time he can play is if he plays with a parent.... Which he finds is not fair cause he would like to play with other people... Some people love playing with the kids and more don't...I understand that... And it's been said time and time before that if it wasn't for the youth in the program's the adults wouldn't have sponsorship for their darts.... If that's the case then treat them all the same... It's not fair to give preference over some kids and not others and I know that not all kids act the Same... But they need to be given a chance.

I believe very strongly that today's youths are the future. Not allowing them to compete simply to ensure they don't beat adults and "steal " ranking points is a great way to ensure Ontario isn't competitive in the future. This decision was made unilaterally and without proper consultation of the membership.
