Since permit drivers must be with an adult while driving, a photo permit is not necessary, and waiting to acquire one is in fact an impediment to new drivers getting in the practical driving experience they need. My daughter has one week of driver's ed left and then that knowledge will get no practical application until "some day" when she can get an appointment.

During these times, it would be great if the WA DOL permitted instructional permits to happen entirely online.

Please allow our kids to get their instructional driving permit. We have had her Pre-application issued almost 2 months ago and driving number issued but cannot finish the process without showing all the info again in person which is currently impossible. She has almost finished drivers ed but still no legal permit. :(

This week my daughter will complete driver's ed. Without a permit, however, she will not be able to actually learn how to drive.

We live in Kenmore and have to go to Bellingham for an appointment in mid-July to get a permit as Shoreline is not open and Lynnwood is no longer taking appointments. Learners permit drivers are going to be with their parents while driving, no photo ID is necessary.

Please provide a feasible and timely way for my son to obtain his instructional permit. He has finished driver's ed, and has had ZERO hours of driving practice. We need a way to get his permit beyond the drive outside of our county to a DOL for an appointment that is four weeks out!

My daughter turned 15 last week and begins drivers ed today. Her appointment to get her permit is 3 weeks from now. Not cool!

Hello, please create a process for students to access instruction permits for new drivers. With many events cancelled, this is a perfect summer to learn to drive and the only thing standing in the way is the learners permit. Please get this done.

My daughter has completed the online course and we are awaiting to get her permit in order to start having her drive. Please open DMV so we can pick it up without driving over 2 hours for an appointment a month away! Thank you!
