I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum behind this because I never imagined so many people would care. This surge of support belongs entirely to you and your willingness to speak up for others. I am just holding the pen while you all provide the real strength.

Everyone has the right to be who they want to be. A name is attached to every being... Their life. Their name. Their choice! Make that change!
That is an insult to the transgender community, Facebook will not allow the option to change their name as their lives change, yet they advocate equality, they evoke how innovative their organization is, and they claim to be the architects of social media. Well this has no reciprocal relations to an architect. Those who reject change, are only the architects of decay, The only human institution that rejects progress is a cemetery! With denying a person their rights to be who they are, that is where Facebook will end up.
This is a long time overdue.

I literally have changed my name on my identification card. and I just got a divorce. I need to change my name. NOW.

This is something not only needed for Facebook, but something that shows a sign of respect from Mark Zuckerberg and the team at Facebook HQ.
