I find it offensive to take it down! We can't honor anyone's memory anymore? What's next - cancel Memorial Day? It's time for SOMEONE to lead and we are looking to our elected officials to do that!

Mayor Fuller, You have caused so much diversity in the city already by your actions and if you cannot see that you should not be Mayor. It seems you don't care enough for the families who have lost their loved ones protecting your city and the roles they played to protect and save them. These men are hero's and deserve to be honored. You are to blame for this and you should fix it ASAP. This should be a voted matter and not only yours. Your actions have been hurtful and unreasonable. Put the flag back up.

This is just people trying to start things that doesn't need to be started again. How is a firefighter memorial flag "offensive"?? It just makes no sense to me at all. We are supposed to honor the fallen. This isn't the way.

bring this back. I don't find this offensive at all and before things are taken down there should be a public vote and not left just to one person. Completely unreasonable to complain about a flag that signifies firemen and their hard work and heroism. As well as those men who died saving people's lives.

Tell the citizen that is offended to grow up and stop being offended on pieces of honor.

Madam Mayor, in a time where the pandemic brings fear and the country is divided; One might think you would cease the opportunity to bring peace and unity to the City of Newton. It is ok to admit a mistake, matter of fact, it takes the bigger person to admit to one. THIS forcing of the flag to be taken down was certainly a mistake. It is a sad day when people cannot visually show their love and respect for a fallen firefighter or fellow man. You have made this world a sad place.

It's a disgrace that it was taken down. How dare these ignorant people crying wolf over a tribute to fallen heroes

Anyone, who is opposed to letting firefighters fly this flag at the fire station has little comprehension for the meaning of the word family. Its sad to see the mayor of the City of Newton, using her short time left in office, to disrespect the very people that, regardless of how she continuously disrespects them, would still rush to save her should the need arise.
