My Mom was born and raised in Newtonville as was myself and my Family.. It is very sad to see the lack of respect for those who have always cared for us !!! That certainly is now you Madem Mayor. This is about our fine city not your own personal agenda.

I believe it is wrong to ban this flag for the reasons stated and more. It is also a violation of our rights to free expression.

As a former Newton resident and the widow of Captain John K White LOD 8/17/17 I request that the fallen firefighters flag be restored to its rightful and honorable place in Nonantum Station 4.

I realize that people have tried to politicize these flags, especially the black flag with a blue line, against the BLM movement and that is disrespectful to our BIPOC citizens and to the true meaning of the flags which is to honor civil servants who have fallen in the line of duty including Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works. As a BLM supporter, I understand the Mayor’s response. However, I support the restoration of the black flag with a thin red line to honor fallen fire fighters because it is not a political flag or anti-BLM flag.

We need to stop all of this hate. So many people sacrifice their life for us on a daily basis. We live in America. The land of the free. The flag should go back up and should be hung proudly.

Sending support for the firefighters. If one citizen, or even a small group of citizens, can get their way by saying they're offended; one citizen could remove a Mayor because they're offended by a Mayor's actions.
